Dog Says Hi aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the site — the photo tool, the guides, and the information pages. This page records what the site does today and where it still falls short.

What the site does now

• Keyboard access: a “Skip to main content” link starts every page, and every control — photo upload, submit, cancel, retry, and copy — works without a pointer.
• Visible focus: a high-contrast outline marks the focused element on light and navy surfaces.
• Text alternatives: photos and illustrations carry alt text; most guide diagrams are real text and labelled HTML/SVG rather than images of text, and the few illustrated diagrams carry alt text and a disclosure caption; decorative thumbnails use empty alt text.
• Reduced motion: pages honour prefers-reduced-motion, so smooth scrolling and small hover movements switch off when you ask for less motion.
• Zoom and reflow: layouts stack and wrap so pages stay usable at narrow widths and 200% zoom, and navigation and control targets are at least 44 pixels tall.
• No-JS reading: the guides and the help, policy, and company pages remain readable with JavaScript disabled.

Known limitations

• The photo lookup itself needs JavaScript; the rest of the site does not.
• A reading is AI-generated text about one submitted photo. Before you submit, the photo preview depends on what you can see in the image yourself — the tool cannot describe a photo it has not received. The result that follows is plain text.
• Hero photographs and illustrations carry brief alt text, so fine detail in a complex image may not be fully described.
• Links inside body paragraphs follow the surrounding text size rather than a fixed 44-pixel target; WCAG's target-size rule exempts inline links.
• This page reflects our own review against WCAG 2.2 AA. It is not a formal audit, and the site has not been certified by an external assessor.
